Bringing Housing to Western Alaska

Our Mission

We’re on a mission to address housing needs in rural communities across Western Alaska. Our goal is to provide quality, affordable, and durable housing solutions tailored to the unique needs of Alaska’s communities.

Native Partnership

We’ve partnered with a local, native-owned contractor based out of St. Michael Island, that is certified and qualified to build our homes. As required, they have 80% (or more) of their staff as local hires, which helps contribute to the local economy.

Local Jobs

We provide jobs and we train people. Our building crew has worked all over Western Alaska, including the Norton Sound and Bristol Bay areas. Wherever we build, we hire local workers, which is a big part of our mission.

Built For Alaska

We’ve designed the best possible housing unit for the harsh climate that has freezing weather in the winter, and warm weather in the summer. Our helical pier system is specifically made for building on top of permafrost.

Smart-Home Enabled

Our homes have the best technology built in, including “smart home” features like automated lighting, sound, and voice commands to offer a hands-free experience plus the ability to set schedules to reduce energy waste.

Extremely Minimal Waste

Our housing units are prefabricated in our workshop, meaning we only ship what you actually need. This makes our housing units nearly zero-waste upon construction which reduces shipping costs and garbage.

Maximum Energy Efficiency

Our wall and roof panels are unbelievably energy efficient and provide an extremely tight package to keep in the warmth, keep out the cold, and reduce each unit’s energy consumption.

Our Western Alaska Housing Units

In June, 2023, we sent our team to Alaska to conduct an extensive on-the-ground tour of the communities across the western part of the state. We performed a feasibility study to see what it would take to provide housing units that are quick to assemble, durable in construction, and designed to the ideal standards and specifications for the local climate.

Our scouting trip included meeting with the native community members, speaking with tribal elders and local government officials, conducting extensive on-the-ground interviews with the inhabitants of multiple types of housing units, and taking measurements, photographs, and video footage.

Our house designs take into account what we learned on our trip, and especially the feedback from the community members themselves about what they do and don’t like about their existing homes. We have created what we believe is the best possible solution for offering housing that will provide maximum relief for the local housing crisis. Our housing units are built to the ideal specifications, size, materials, and design for the local weather, topography, and lifestyle of the community members.

Our housing units include: arctic entry, storage space in the attic, seven-day construction time, pre-finished panelized walls with roof, and flooring included.
